The sanctuary is available for research. Currently the following researches are ongoing in the sanctuary:

Insect inventory
Objective: To establish the various diurnal and nocturnal insects in the Sanctuary. It is being carried out by ICIPE  through laying of traps at various points in the Forest.

Crowned Eagle research
Objective: To study the feeding and breeding behavior of the African Crowned Eagle nesting at the sanctuary. This is being carried out through the National Museums of Kenya.
