Word From the Office Ngong Forest is one of the remaining semi-deciduous forests in Kenya. These forests are characterized by open canopies because of selective cutting of emergent trees, in the past. The Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary is soliciting for funds and other resources from well wishers. We are happy to acknowledge that a number of projects such as the establishment of an electric fence have been funded by the European Union. In the Education Programme, the orientation Banda and Nature Trail is being funded by UNDP – GEF, while part of the construction of Education Centre is funded by the European Union. We have received sponsorship of fencing posts to meet the recurrent expenditure, the making of the nametags and the donation of books to adjacent community schools. However this money is not enough. We are requesting for more funds and resources from well-wishers. P. W. Wamahiu
